HUMAN RIGHTS

Each of us has inherent worth and value. All people have equal dignity.

We view these statements as basic, essential truths. But what you might not know is that these truths have uniquely Christian roots.

Ancient societies did not value or dignify individuals unless the law said they deserved this treatment. Jesus repeatedly challenged the social order by socializing with "outcasts."

Living counter-culturally, Jesus treated everyone equally as loved by God and made in His image. Following this example, Christians continue to fight injustice and protect human rights worldwide.
